FVDG Betty Joined the Newton Falls Lions in November of 2002 and has had perfect attendance throughout the years. Lion Betty has been on the board of directors since 2003, she has served as 1st, 2nd Vice Presidents and President.
She served as Zone 1 Chair from 2012-2015. FVDG Betty received a Council of Governors Merit Award in 2013.  She is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and a Certified Guiding Lion since 2014.

FVDG Betty has attend Level 1 & 2 of the Regional Leadership Institute. She has attended 31 District Conventions, 3 Winter Retreats, numerous Fall Conferences, many State Conventions, the 2015 USA/Canada Forum in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and 3 International Conventions, the most recent one in Hawaii.

FVDG Betty has grown up in Lions her entire life, her father and husband were both dedicated Lions. She has helped the Cortland Lions with many projects throughout the years, but most significantly, has been the Secretary of the Cortland Street Fair Committee for 31 years.

Along with being an active Lion, FVDG Betty was an Elder at the First Church of God in Cortland & assists with the soundboard on Sunday mornings. FVDG Betty lives in Cortland with her cats "Felix" and "Jake."
After graduating from high school, she attended Kent State University, Trumbull Campus. She has held many public service jobs from being a "petroleum transfer engineer" to a "pro shop attendant."
In her spare time she enjoys traveling and baking.
